La Serenissima: a love story

Free$5.99

“My brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his
might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places.” – Ephesians, VI

The reader should not be misled
by the title of my book, for love evokes the highest power but also
provokes the greatest hate in its darkest hour. Love and hate both
reside on the same branch at times, and both felt by those who battle to
hold onto true love. The love in question isn’t only about the desire
of mortals or those since passed but of a place, an island called
Venice, also known as La Serenissima who sits majestic and proud
in a lagoon. The dark and secret history of her past remains hidden and
unknown to tourists. The church elders look to her future only with
dread, like a double-edged sword, one side fights for justice while the
other destruction, and the only glint of hope remains within a prophecy
that is protected by a council of ten.
